Ironbell Blooms
Bishop of Llandaff (likely)
Bishop of Llandaff (likely)
This Dahlia was purchased at a small local nursery with a tag labeled "Black Forest Ruby" but I actually have Black Forest Ruby and this most likely fits with bloom and foliage of Bishop of Llandaff (or Japanese Bishop which is very similar but newer variety- I'll compare that closer next year) If you like a shorter garden plant and/or dark foliage varieties, this is a cute one. I like these type varieties in my patio pots for the color with my annuals nearby.
Bloom size: 2.5-3"
Form: PE -Peony
Colors: scarlet red, with dark center and yellow pollen/stamens
Average Height: 24-40" at most
Hybridizer/Year:
HEIRLOOM
DARK FOLIAGE
(listed sizes are based off past years, and other growers averages. 2025 was a smaller growth year than most for us, especially plant heights. All sizes can also vary with zones, weather and growing conditions)
