About Us/Contact Us
Ironbell Blooms is cut flower and dahlia tuber farm located in Howell, Michigan. I (Kara) have loved to garden most of my life, growing up on a farm, and my Mom was an avid gardener and my father worked for GM and farmed on their land, until he quit both and started a Topsoil trucking business. I graduated high school and obtained a degree in Landscape Architecture and Landscape Horticulture. Although I dreamed of opening up my own Landscape Design firm... at just age 20, I instead fell into healthcare when I added a weekend job at a hospital. I decided to pursue nursing. My love of gardening and even weekend landscape projects remained as a passion hobby.
My husband Andrew, who I met while in College in Lansing, is a smart, mechanically minded guy. He brings great help to the business. In fact, with significant health challenges, I couldn't do it without my God and my Husband. He has helped build and implement numerous things to make dahlia-ing easier, he definitely helps with labor heavy tasks, and says I cant call him my "cheerleader" so lets call him my encourager when its tough. Our two teenage boys and other family have been of great help as well. We appreciate every bit we can get.
What began in our backyard in mostly grow bags, and selling on a spreadsheet to mostly local customers, has grown into a cool collection of dahlias and a variety of other cut flowers, which is now mostly planted and grown in the sweet corn field down the road, at the farm where I grew up. It has expanded our plan and size immensely. That also requires this lovely website, which our Son helped set up, which has expanded our customer range to share the love and beauty with you. ❤️
Thanks!
Andrew and Kara Miller
